Sandmann Family Day Care received awards from the State of California’s Healthy Apple Program in Gold in 2019, 2023 and 2024, Nurturelist.com(2017, 2018, 2019, 2023 and 2024), the Child Care Agency 2024, and from TrustedCare in 2024 as a recognition for our excellence in child care nutrition and physical activity.

Sandmann Family Day Care is a bilingual childcare program – German and English – located in the heart of Noe Valley (south of 24th Street between Noe and Sanchez Street) in San Francisco.
We provide loving and professional care for children between the ages of 12 to 48 months. Our bilingual program offers a play- and music-based nurturing environment for young children where they can explore and learn. We have a large inside space and we take children outside every day to our spacious and child-friendly garden.
The teachers are either native German or English speakers and together have more than 30 years of child care experience. Our child to teacher ratio is at the very least 3:1.

Sandmann focuses on creating a stable group of friends who grow up together. The program is primarily full-time (Monday–Friday, approximately 8/9 a.m. to 5 p.m.), with morning and aftercare options also available.
We are an active member of the Family Child Care Association of San Francisco, the NAFCC, and NAEYC since 2013.
